Ever feel there is something completely wrong with your hair? You’re probably right. Whether you live in a warm climate or a city with ridiculous humidity, your hair may have the tendency to feel fried. According to a study by the Renee Furterer Research Center published in iVillage Beauty Magazine, after just three days of sun exposure, the scale-like cells that cover individual hair shafts begin to pull off. This can make your hair dry, dull, fragile and brittle. Stay ConsistentSome hair stylists say to use sunscreen in your hair, while others may suggest conditioner. Whatever you do, all seem to agree consistency is the key. “Inconsistency is the biggest mistake people make,” says Hollywood celebrity hair stylist Jose Neira. “Find a hair stylist you like and stick with them in order to keep from changing them all the time.” Hair Susceptible to DamageDyed, highlighted or relaxed hair may be more likely to suffer from UV damage depending on how much tender love and care it gets, stylists say. Neira discovered in his 24 years of experience that people who live in extremely humid or warm climates need to add more moisture to their hair. “I believe that men and women should want to keep their hair looking as natural as possible,” he says. “Don’t think if you cut your hair that will be the end of your problems.
