Growing out your hair faster simply requires changing your habits. Changing your hair care routine can result in you reaching your hair length goals.

Growing out your hair requires patience and willingness to change. Educating yourself on new hair style techniques, experimenting with new products, and sticking with a set routine can help you retain the hair that you have grown. Here are a few tips to help you grow hair faster.

Natural Hair

If you have natural black hair, it may appear that your hair is not growing. You hair could appear to only be three to five inches long unstretched. However, when stretched it could easily reveal shoulder length or bra strap length hair. Take pictures of yourself in your favorite style each month to have a visual of your hair growth progress. Choose to wear your natural hair in protective hairstyles.

Examples of protective hairstyles are two-strand twists, box braids, flat twists, Afros, twist-outs, cornrows, and wigs. Only comb your hair when it is wet, preferabbly full of conditioner in the shower. Use your fingers for daily combing and last minute styling. If you are styling your hair dry, use a water filled spray bottle to dilute the area to avoid losing hair.

Relaxed Hair

Your hair may be chemically relaxed. A great way to retain hair length is to stretch out your relaxers. Limiting the number of times you apply a relaxer each year, will help you have longer hair. Avoid leaving the relaxer on for more than the suggested processing time. Resist the temptation to use excessive heat to have bone-straight hair. Try roller sets, bun-outs, Bantu knot-outs, and twist-outs to cut down on heat styling.

Deep Conditioning

Make it a priority to deep condition your hair several times a month. Use a high quality deep conditioner to keep your hair from becoming brittle. You can make a natural deep conditioning treatment by mixing a cup of honey with a half cup of olive oil. Apply this mixture to your hair, and wrap with a plastic cap. Let the deep conditioning treatment work for at least thirty minutes before you rinse. Rinse and detangle your hair in the shower with a wide tooth comb.Always comb your hair in the shower in sections, starting at the ends of your hair.

Hair Growth Supplements

One secret to grow hair faster is to make sure your body is properly nourished and hydrated. Your diet may be lacking key nutrients. Drinking eight to ten glasses of non carbonated liquids each day will help your hair not to become brittle. You must drink enough liquids for your hair growth supplements to work properly. Great supplements for hair growth are MSM, Omega 3 supplements, b vitamins, and a liquid vitamin of your choice.

You can grow hair faster through healthy food choices, protective styling, hair growth supplements, limited heat styling, and using deep conditioning treatments. Treat your hair with a gentle hand while styling. Use these black hair growth tips to retain four to six inches of growth each year.
