Tiffany Trump's Career PlansDaughter of Marla Maples and Donald Trump Blazes Her Own Career Path
Tiffany Trump declares her career ambitions for fashion, acting and business.
Tiffany Trump was in Lake Louise, Alberta January 16-18, 2009 to watch her mother, Marla Maples, participate in the Celebrity Ski Invitational benefiting Waterkeeper Alliance. Watching the Celebrity Ski InvitationalThe 15-year-old didn’t ski the slopes of Lake Louise Mountain Resorts, but she did trek half a kilometre up the base of the mountain to get the best view of the head-to-head, dual giant slalom course. “There’s my mom!” the tall blonde pointed out as Marla Maples tucked low to cross the finish line, beating John Paul De Joria of Paul Mitchell professional salon products. Trump snapped personal photos of her mother and De Joria laughing together at the results of their race, and discussing the importance of Waterkeeper Alliance with the local media. De Joria’s Patron Tequila and Paul Mitchell were two of the sponsors of the event. Trump's Plans for the Future The pretty teen revealed her apirations during an interview at Lake Louise. She could easily fulfill her interest in being an actress or model like her mother, but her concentration on her studies and her desire to have her own business comes from Dad’s genes. “I want to be an actress or designer, so it’s a little different than my family,” Trump admits. She plans on applying to Wharton, NYU and a few other “top schools” to further her studies and get a business background regardless of her aspirations. She says there’s no pressure on her to follow Dad’s footsteps, or her step-siblings’ Ivanka Trump or Donald Jr. “My mom just wants me to be happy and my Dad is supportive either way. I get good grades. I could always, like, go into the (family) business ‘cause I am, like, you know, very into studies and academics but my passion is the arts.” Trump's Passion Isn't Property DevelopmentJust in grade 9 and she already knows she wants to design evening wear, being attracted to the structure of gowns. “I love draping, and a lot of colours,” her favourite colour being champagne, “but I also like when you have a lot of colours and they melt into each other,” a la her favourite designer Elie Saab. “I’m learning to sew. I got a sewing machine and mannequin for Christmas.” She hadn’t made anything for the Waterkeeper Alliance’s Silent Auction and Awards Dinner, and planned on wearing a simple black dress, black tights and high heels. When asked if designers regularly send her dresses to wear to celebrity events, the highschool student lifted an eyebrow and exhaled, “I wish.” The celebrities attending the Chateau Lake Louise Sports Invitational and Silent Auction raised over $1 million for Robert F. Kennedy Jr.’s Waterkeeper Alliance, an environmental movement to protect clean water.
